UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Midsummer Night's Dream Machine

    Thursday, August 14
    5-8pm
    PSU South Park Blocks
    (SW Mill and SW Market)

Co-presented by Gather:Make:Shelter, SoundsTruck NW, and the Oregon Symphony, Midsummer Night’s Dream Machine celebrates the transformative power of art and the lived experiences of GMS artists.

At the heart of the event is a live runway presentation featuring original wearable artworks crafted by GMS artists. The runway will be brought to life with a mix of live and recorded music, including performances by musicians from the Oregon Symphony—amplified from SoundsTruck NW’s innovative mobile stage—adding depth and dynamic resonance to each look.

Together, these artistic expressions create an evening of reflection and celebration, centered on the strength of collaboration and the transformative power of art.

  • The Connection Project at Willamette International Travel

    July-September
    Willamette International Travel
    Irving Street Lofts
1314 NW Irving St. STE 101
    Portland, OR 97209

The Connection Project bridges creative communities and fosters meaningful human connections. Local potters from the Portland area generously donated bisque-fired bowls, which were then hand-painted by GMS artists. Each bowl becomes a unique, handcrafted piece that represents the combined efforts and talents of potters and painters. This project links maker to maker and giver to receiver, weaving a network of creativity and generosity that spreads joy and connection.

The Connection Project is a powerful project that GMS has enacted periodically with ceramic painting workshops from 2021 - 2023.
