The Monograph Project: Series No. 7
We are pleased to announce our latest in our Monograph Project series: Impressions From The Collective!
The Monograph Project is a series of books by Gather:Make:Shelter that offers a deep dive into some our artists and collaborations. You can see our previous editions below:
Impressions From The Collective, designed by GMS’s own Brenda Bingham, shares a look behind the scenes of GMS partnership with Mullowney Printing Co. Over the course of a year-long intensive collaboration of in-depth printmaking workshops, 11 GMS artists explored multiple techniques under the mentorship of printers Paul Mullowney and Kathy Kuehn.
“When I was homeless, the hardest thing to do was create. Gather:Make:Shelter has been so much more than a home and a safe space. It’s a community I never had.”
Impressions From The Collective includes writing from: Dana Lynn Louis, Founding Director of GMS; Paul Mullowney, Founder & Co-Director of Mullowney Printing Co.; and GMS Artists Violet Fae Rabbit, Faera J. Valore, Tonnisha Triplet, Gloria Rodriquez, Aileen McPherson, and Marzipan.
“The role of printmaking, specifically, has always played an important role in social justice movements, due to its ability to distribute artist’s images and ideas widely and quickly. I am honored to have had the privilege of working with Gather:Make:Shelter, and I deeply hope this partnership can continue into the future.”
Gather:Make:Shelter Participants: Aileen McPherson, Blue Creature, Faera J. Valore, Fahd Sadiq, Fawn, Gloria Rodriguez, Jaycob, Madrone, Marzipan, Tonnisha Triplet, Violet Fae Rabbit
