Oregon ArtsWatch Covers Midsummer’s Night Dream Machine Event

A huge thank you to Justin Duyao of Oregon ArtsWatch for covering Gather:Make:Shelter’s recent event Midsummer Night’s Dream Machine in partnership with SoundsTruckNW and the Oregon Symphony!

Of the event, Duyao writes:

“The collaborative summer evening event filled the South Park Blocks with music, fashion, poetry, and plenty of joie de vivre.

Each…artist and model in Midsummer Night’s Dream Machine presented an entirely individual ensemble, ranging from Aileen McPherson’s “Mermaid Queen,” an elegant dress and clamshell crown combination that seems to have emerged straight from a fairytale, to the plumy political piece featured in “A Cautionary Tale,” which was collaboratively designed and compiled using caution tape above the waist and plastic bags below.”
